Saturday, April 26, 2003 ::: Just came back from Macau. It was the first time I ever realized that Macau is such a beautiful city. It does not have Hong Kong's glamour but the historical buildings just make it a much more beautiful city than Hong Kong. Had great meals... French and Portugese. Must recommend the Portugese restaurant 'Restaurante Platau'... OMG the desserts are just sooooo great! The St Tiago hotel was great too... built at the site of an old castle, the hotel is equipped with vintage furnitures... it does not have 5 star facilities but the experience was truly unique. And I asked myself: I was having a great day at a great place with my family. What more could I ask possibly ask for? The Macau-ians are really grateful people. At their museum they exhibit all the stuff brought there by the portugese and the Jesuits. They are grateful that the Jesuits were there to help. Here in HK? People never stop for a minute to thank the British and the Jesuits who sacrified so much to make HK such a nice place for us to live in. At least not the government. Just take a look at HK's museum, and you will be told that HK's success is a major accomplishment of the heroes from China. Maybe if you are careful enough you may notice a paragraph or 2 describing the Jesuits or ambassadors from Europe. And they thought they were smart to hide the fact that we were being helped my foreigners all through these years. In the end people in HK will not thank anything, anyone, including our motherland China. Because we have been told not to thank anybody for anything. And they thought they were smart. Currently watching the black n white film 'The Apartment'. Jack Lemmon is such a genius. Gonna get back to the movie. ::: posted by Wings at 4/26/2003 08:20:00 AM
